Switchable phantom power: Across both mic pre inputs, globally switchable direct from the front fascia. Tactile Monitor dial: A front panel volume dial provides immediate control over the main stereo outputs. The first two channels feature high-gain instrument inputs.īus-powered for a tidy mobile recording rig Saffire PRO 14 can be powered via FireWire, or via its own power supply.ĭedicated front-panel headphone bus Providing a fully customized monitor mix, with tactile level control available on the front panel. Two Hi-Z instrument inputs: No need for a separate DI. The first section of this Saffire MixControl tutorial is going to focus on the top half of the control panel (shown below), and how to use it to create custom mixes that can be routed to any of the outputs on your interface. Xcite+ Software Bundle: Featuring a host of royalty-free loops and samples, a full-fledged soft-synth and Ableton Live Lite 8, providing an affordable upgrade path to Ableton Live. Saffire MixControl ultra-low-latency: DSP mixer/router Provides an 18 x 6 DSP mixer with excellent routing flexibility, intuitive one-click configurations, and lower than 1.4ms latency (less than the time it takes sound to travel two feet through air).įocusrite VST/AU Plug-in Suite, for use in the mix: Upgrade your standard sequencer effects and bring a touch of class to your session with Focusrite Compression, Reverb, Gating and EQ VST/AU plug-ins. Total I/O count of 8 inputs and 6 outputs: A host of I/O options are provided, including a unique Loopback facility for routing audio between software applications via Saffire MixControl. High-quality 24-bit/96kHz FireWire interface: Features professional conversion and JetPLL jitter elimination technology, guaranteeing pristine audio quality and reliable synchronization. I have a nice little flow for the specific case you are experiencing.Quote Two high-quality award-winning Focusrite preamps based on Focusrite's 25-year Dies geschieht vorwiegend im Routing Panel, welches nachfolgend zu sehen ist. Just curious, how big of an offset are you experiencing?Īlso, if it does come down to trimming and moving regions, hotkeys are your friend. I also have a sapphire, and when my buffer is set to 1024, all of my recordings are placed about 19 samples off. This tutorial will explain the features and settings of MixControl to allow the greatest amount of control over your interface. (You could run a loopback test to measure your actual latency and get this number). Scarlett Mix Control is the control software that is used to control the output routing and settings for the Scarlett interface range. In these cases, you need to use the recording offset in the audio preferences to offset it by the amount you need. One thing that I've discovered is that logic (or maybe it's more accurate to say that CoreAudio driver?) doesn't report the correct roundtrip latency for some device makes/models. Thought I'd take a crack first to test my knowledge I'll let the latency experts reply in more detail. ![]() Is this the correct way to go or is there an elephant in the room i am missing?Would be great to just record and not have to nudge it into s time consuming! any pointers would be amazing for the optimum recording set up. I've measured the time it takes the audio to arrive and set the delay compensation in the audio preferences to the corresponding samples lag and it still doesn't seem to get it bang on. When I record my guitar into logic X whether directly into the saffire and thus into Logic through its fire wire buss or via the desk then the saffire and into logic, the signal gets there way to late and I have to nudge it into place. ![]() i monitor through my desk which i have connected through a jack lead connection into the saffire, I do have a serious memory set up with 2 ssds and 22gb or RAM so there shouldn't be issues. i run a large amount of soft instruments and Kontakt orchestral patches so have my buffer set to 1024 when recording to avoid glitching. I've got logic X and a saffire pro 40 interface. ![]() Got a seemingly newbie question but something i can't seem to resolve despite 15 years with macs and logic. ![]()
